Message from the Principal

It has been an amazing start to Term 4.  The smiling faces and laughter that I hear each morning on playground duty at school has been a joy.

"KOALA Club" held their first full day last week.  It is such an exciting time for our future students, parents and teachers.  We look forward to welcoming you to the All Hallows community.  Enrolments are currently open for all classes for 2025.

We are busy preparing the organisation of our end of year events.  We will keep you updated on all the important events as we proceed through the term.

R.E Matters: Walking in the Light of Christ

This term our focus is.. "Let Your Light Shine" - never see a need without doing something about it.

                                    Loving Father,

You created us to shine, to let the light of your love show in all we do and say.  Help me always to recognise in myself the light of your risen Son, who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Amen

ALL SAINTS FEAST DAY - Friday 1st November

Our school will celebrate with a Liturgy at 9.00am in the Church.  This will be followed by a morning tea with families on the fron playground. Please join us for this special morning.

During this year we have been focusing on "Walking in the Light of Christ".  With this in mind. we are excited that each class will be participating in a "Service Activity" in the Gulgong community on Monday 4th November.  We will have more on this in next week's newsletter.

All Hallows Jump Rope for Heart

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART IS NEXT WEEK

WEDNESDAY 30TH OCTOBER

The All Hallows Jump Off Day is a fun school activity that involves  students, teachers and parents.  All students will be part of a team in their class group.  This week teams will choose a name and dress up idea in their theme - even the teachers are known to dress up!

The Jump Rope for Heart program teaches the importance of heart health and raises money for The Heart Foundation.  The Heart Foundation is a charity dedicated to fighting the single biggest killer of Australians - heart disease.  Schools and families across the country are supporting Australians living with heart disease.  Your generous support helps to educate people and fund research to better prevent and manage heart disease into the future.

Thank you to all who have gone online to register and raise sponsorship money for the Heart Foundation.  Let's keep that going.  We encourage everyone to keep up the skipping and ask that everyone registers online or makes a gold coin donation on the day.  Simply follow the link to get started: https://jumprope.heartfoundation.org/au/register

If you prefer to donate in cash, please send this into school in an envelope marked with your childs name and class next Wednesday, our Jump Off Day.  The amount of money each child raises is not important, it is the awareness of heart health and skipping skills we are concentrating on.

Information for the day:

*  All students come to school dressed in their JRFH team costumes.

*  The whole team will take turns skipping for 2 hours

      10.00am - 11.00am   RECESS   11.30am - 12.30pm

The Jump Off will start at 10.00am with the Demo Team performing

*  Throughout the day competitions will be held to add to the fun. The judges will be looking for:

  • Best Dressed Team
  • Team with the Best Name
  • Student/Teacher/Parent who can skip the longest without stopping

*  All students are reminded to wear joggers and their school hat as well as sunscreen (this will need to be reapplied during the day).  Anyone with their own skipping rope is asked to bring it.

*  Please bring extra water

Please come along and join in the fun

Sporting Success

Good luck to Lilah Gray and Will Bowen who are competing at the NSW PSSA Athletics Championships in Sydney today and tomorrow in the Discus events.  Lilah and Will have trained exceptionally hard and are most deserving of their success.  Even to make it to State is a massive achievement.  Good luck and remember how proud we are of you.

Congratulations to Ruby and Maddie Pracey-Holmes  and Amber-Lilly Sunderland who competed at the National Interschools Horse Championships last weekend.  The girls were fantastic representatives of our school and came away with some fantastic results.  We are very proud of you all.

Pupil Free Day

A reminder that our 3rd PUPIL FREE DAY for the year is

THIS FRIDAY  25th OCTOBER 2024

Our staff will be attending our Annual Retreat Day

Stage 2 Excursions

Year 3 and 4 have had a very busy start to Term 4.  Following on from a great day in Newcastle to see "Mary Poppins" last week, today they are off to Wambangalang Environmental Education Centre.  We hope that you all have two fantastic days.

Principals Meeting

I will be away at the end of next week attending the final Principals Meeting for the year.  Sarah Buckle and Kylie Statham will be in charge of the school in my absence should you need anything while I am away.

P & F Update - BAZAAR

Our next P & F Meeting will be held next Mlnday night to organise our Bazaar Market Stall that will be held on Friday 8th November.  The meeting will be held at the Post Office Hotel at 6.00pm to discuss the Bazaar.  Please come along if you are able to attend.

Bazaar:

  • Please return your helpers sheets.  Thank you to everyone who has indicated their willingness to help out. We still need lots of help to be able to run stalls at the Bazaar.
  • We are asking Infants to donate cakes/slices for the Cake Stall
  • We are asking Year 3 & 4 classes to donate lollies & biscuits for the cookie decorating stall.  Notes came home with these classes earlier this week.
  • We are asking Year 5 & 6 classes to donate salad items for the barbecue.
  • Please let your class teacher or Brad know if you are able to help out.

Here are a few ways you can contribute to the success of our Bazaar:

Volunteer:  We need volunteers to help with various aspects of the event such as planning, setting up, running stalls and cleaning up afterwards.  Your time and effort are invaluable.

Donate:  Whether it's items for stalls, baked goods for the bake sale or your time to provide a service, your contributions are greatly appreciated.

Spread the word:  Encourage friends and family to attend the Bazaar.  The more people we can involve, the more successful the event will be.

Attend:  Come to the Bazaar with your family and enjoy the afternoon with us.  Your presence not only supports our cause but also fosters a sense of community within our school.

Raffle Tickets:  Today each family will receive a small book of raffle tickets to sell to family & friends.  $2.00 per ticket or 3 for $5.00 and there are some great prizes to be won.

  • 1st   $550 Giant Mudgee Bike voucher and helmet (donated by AHS P & F & Giant Mudgee)

We understand that everyone's circumstances are different, and any contribution, big or small is valued and appreciated.  Your support is what makes All Hallows Catholic School such a special place for our children to learn and grow.

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude in advance to all our parents who will step forward to support our Bazaar fundraiser.  Together we can ensure that our school continues to thrive and provide the best possible education for our students.

Uniform Shop

Our P & F Uniform Shop is open on Tuesday mornings 8.30am - 9.15am.  Should you need items outside this time, please message throughthe P & F Facebook page and someone from the P & F will arrange a collection from the school office for uniform items.

Sun Safety

A reminder to all parents to ensure that their child has packed their hat in their bag everyday.  The "No Hat, Shade Play" rule is enforced and children will not be allowed to play outside if they don't have a hat on.  Please help us to ensure that sun safety procedures are being followed at our school.

Kindergarten 2025

We are currently accepting enrolments for our 2025 Kindergarten class.  We also have some limited availability in some of our other classes.  If you know of anyone that is interested in enrolling their child for next year, please share this information with them and ask them to email Brad at b.toole2@bth.catholic.edu.au or call into the office to collect an enrolment pack.

Our next KOALA Club will be Thursday 31st October, 9.30am to 2.30pm.

Garden Club News

Last week we had a quiet week in the garden due to all the beautiful rain!  Our plants have recognised that it is well and truly Spring and have shown their gratitude for the rain by blooming amazingly!  We will have so many strawberries soon.

It's been wonderful to have a stroll around.  Please feel free to come and check out our space next time you're at school!  Happy gardening, Miss Norris & Mrs Watts.
