2025 Newsletter Term 3 Week 8
Letter from the Principal - Brad Toole
Dear Parents,
This week is National Child Protection Week.
At All Hallows we put children first by prioritising their safety and wellbeing.
We are committed to providing a safe environment for all students, parents and staff. All staff in our schools promote child safety by having a clear understanding of their child protection responsibilities.
If you have a concern, we encourage parents and students to talk to the Principal or other senior staff members at the school. At times you may feel it is not appropriate to speak with the Principal, if this is the case please contact the office of Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst, Phone 6338 3000. We will listen to your concerns and offer assistance, all complaints and allegations are taken seriously and responded to with sensitivity.

A New Saint
A special event took place in Rome last weekend. The Catholic Church named two new saints.
One of these was a young man named Carlo Acutis
Pope Leo XIVll canonised Carlo Acutis in Rome.
Carlo was the only child of wealthy, educated Italian parents who were not particularly religious. He first learnt about God through his nannies and tutors. Even as a toddler he showed amazing awareness of the love of Jesus and was drawn to attending Mass. He was educated in Catholic schools and showed kindness to those kids who were being picked on. He always defended them. Carlo was a devout Italian Catholic teenager known for his love of technology and for creating a website showcasing Eucharistic miracles. These miracles inspired many and helped him on a path to sainthood. He was beatified in 2020 and is known as "God's Influencer" for how he used his computer skills to share his faith and encourage others to live a holy life. His life was short, dying of leukemia at the young age of 15, but his deep faith, love for the Eucharist, and acts of kindness toward the poor made a lasting impact. Carlo taught “To always be close to Jesus, that’s my life plan” May we too have the grace we need to become like Carlo.

What really counts in life is the nobility of the soul or the manner in which we love God and neighbour. . . all men and women are created by God. – Carlo Acutis.
SPORT
POLDING ATHLETICS
Good luck to Braxton, Aliyah, Rory and Brycen who will be representing the Bathurst Diocese at the Polding Athletics Carnival in Newcastle on Friday. We are very proud of your efforts!
TOUCH FOOTY GALA DAY
Yesterday students from Years 3 – 6 travelled to Mudgee to play Touch Footy in Touch Footy Gala Day. This annual carnival is a great opportunity for fun and friendship through sport as we compete for the ‘Dave Aldridge Shield’ for good sportsmanship. It was a wonderful day and our teams were all complimented for their skill, improvement throughout the day and indeed their good sportsmanship. Many thanks to the teachers and parents from the three schools, who managed our eight teams throughout the day. We are grateful that the day is run by NSW Touch Football and supported by Mudgee Touch association and thank them for their effort.

DIOCESAN SUMMER SPORTS TRIALS
The Bathurst Diocesan Summer Sports Trials for 2026 will be held in Dubbo on Thursday 20th November (Touch Footy, Softball and Cricket) and Friday 21stNovember ( Basketball and Tennis) and are open to students in Yr 4 and Yr 5.
These trials are used to select members for the Bathurst Diocesan team to compete at the Polding selection Trials in 2026 for cricket, basketball, tennis, touch footy and softball. Students from all schools in the Bathurst Diocese are invited to attend the trials. This is a selection trial, with skill and game components, which will allow all students the opportunity to best show what they can do. Students wishing to trial MUST display a HIGH standard of ABILITY in these sports to warrant being sent to the trials. They should be involved in REGULAR COMPETITION and have a SOUND KNOWLEDGE OF THE RULES of the game.
Any student wishing to attend the Summer Sports Trials will need to see Ms Statham.
An information note will be sent out at the beginning of Term 4.
End of Day Messages
Can we please ask that all end of day messages involving changes to regular routines are phoned into the office prior to 2.45pm. This will ensure that all messages are delivered accurately and in a timely manner to the students before the end of the day. Your assistance with this is appreciated.
Green Day
Tomorrow Year 5 & 6 will head to Mudgee for the annual Green Day expo. It is a great day that teaches a lot about looking after the environment and being a more sustainable person for our future. Miss Holt and Mr Rogers will join Mr Toole for the day.
Christmas Art
This Friday Mr Toole and Mrs Clift will take our seven students from the Xmas Art team to the finals in Bathurst. They will attend a liturgy, watch the awards and have lunch at Cathedral school in Bathurst before returning back to school.
The bus will leave at 8.45am and return by 3.20pm.
End of Year Presentation
After careful consideration we have made the decision to hold this year's awards ceremony during the school day instead of during the evening. The reason we have made the decision is we want to give all students the opportunity to be at the awards ceremony. We have noticed a trend over recent years of less students attending the night time presentation evening. We will evaluate after the Presentation afternoon this year.
Our Awards Assembly will be held on Thursday 11th December at 1pm at Memorial Hall.
Pupil Free Days
Advanced warning that our 3rd and 4th Pupil Free Days for the year will be held on:
